Anisa Ashkar was born in Acre in 1979. She studied art at the Western Galilee College and graduated with a BFA from Hamidrasha School of Art, Beit Berl College, in 2004. Her performances and photographic work have been shown in galleries and museums in Tel Aviv, Jaffa, Haifa, Acre and Jerusalem as well as in Europe. She lives and works in Tel Aviv.
