Occupied Space 2008

Mohanad Yaqoubi was born in Kuwait in 1981, and received his BA in Mechanical Engineering in 2004 from Birzeit University, where he also studied photography with Rula Halawani. Founder and Art Director of Idioms Film, a collective of young filmmakers in Ramallah, he has produced and directed his own short films as well as working on photography projects. In 2005 he was Artist-in-Residence at Delfina Studios, London, and was a finalist in the A.M. Qattan Foundation's Young Artist Award in 2006. His films have been shown in film festivals in Palestine, the US, the UK, Belgium, United Arab Emirates and Tunisia. He lives in Ramallah.
