Sama Alshaibi was born to Iraqi and Palestinian parents, and now lives in the US. She received her BA from Columbia College Chicago, and MFA from the University of Colorado. Often using images of her own body, her photography and video work explore issues of migration and exile. She has exhibited in many solo and group exhibitions in the US, South Africa, South and Central America and Palestine. She teaches photography at the University of Arizona in Tucson.
