Vera Tamari was born in Jerusalem in 1945. After her BA in Fine Arts from the Beirut College for Women (1966), she studied ceramics in Florence from 1972-74. In 1994, she was awarded an MPhil in Islamic Art & Architecture from Oxford University. Besides exhibiting in many group and solo exhibitions, including Made in Palestine that toured the US, she founded the Paltel Virtual Gallery at Birzeit University in Palestine (www.virtualgallery.birzeit.edu), where she lectures on Islamic Art and Architecture. She is also the curator of Birzeit University's Ethnographic and Art Museum. She lives in Ramallah.
