Ye Hongxing

Ye Hongxing was born in 1972 in Guangxi, China. She graduated from the Guilin Academy in Guangxi and received her MA from the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing. Her work has featured in exhibitions in Shanghai and Beijing as well as the USA, Japan, Italy and Germany. In 2006, she was selected as one of the top 20 young emerging artists in China at the Dragonair Emerging Chinese Artist Awards. In her series of self-portraits juxtaposed with traditional Chinese porcelain patterns that use the western medium of paint on canvas, she hints at the swift changes in China.
